Coming Back to Life - A Yoga, Sound & Shamanism Retreat to honour the Spring Equinox

  • Shanti Sundays London (map)

Join Joseph Yanaku and I on the stunning Tresillian Estate in Cornwall as we embark on a sensory journey of reawakening, coming back to life in time for the Spring Equinox. This is the perfect time to take a pause from daily life and get clear on your intention for the rest of the year. What do you wish to infuse with light for these next 6 months. Retreating from daily life offers the opportunity to go within and bring forth all that wishes to be seen and infused with the light of the sun over the coming Spring and Summer months. Spring carries a sense of promise and renewal yet as we emerge from the colder Winter months, our bodies often feel lethargic and need to catch up as we transition to the new season.

During our 3 days together we will nurture and clear our vessel so we can move into Spring with the same blossoming energy as Mother Nature. We will realign our entire being with dynamic and restorative yoga, transformational sound journeys and earth based rituals that harmonise our natural rhythm with the rhythm of our beautiful Mother Earth, the source of all life.

All of our senses are in for a treat as we feast on seasonal delights in the most beautiful surroundings and enjoy belly laughs and great conversation with other great souls. There are several beautiful beaches nearby if you would like to join us for life affirming and immune boosting cold swims.

The retreat closes with a fire ceremony, where we release all we don’t need to the spirit of the fire before calling in what we wish to co-create as we go forward. You will emerge from this retreat having remembered your inherent strength, ready to embrace the joys of the season with a lightness of being and spring in your step.

The Venue

Set in 22 acres of stunning gardens, Tresillian Estate is an 8 bedroom Georgian Manor house and 6 bedroom barn located near some of North Cornwall’s best beaches. The venue can accommodate 30 people but in order to give everyone plenty of space and attention, we only accept 18 guests. There are 7 single occupancy rooms (also suitable for couples), 3 twin rooms & 1 triple room and 1 bunk room. The houses and studio are all stunning and spacious allowing everyone plenty of breathing space to expand and spread their wings.

The Land and local area

Located near Newquay and some of the most beautiful beaches in the country, the estate is situated in 22 acres of stunning grounds housing a lake, tennis courts and a Victorian walled garden growing fruit and vegetables for the house. Hollywell bay and the beautiful beaches of Crantock and Watergate bay are all only 6 miles away, all perfect for a cleansing dip in the sea.

Yoga

Tracey is an intuitive, warm and fun teacher who thrives on helping people realise their potential on and off the mat. Morning sessions will be dynamic, focusing on building core strength from deep within with Pilates which supports a strong and aligned yoga asana practice. Classes can be challenging but are always held with love and humour.

The afternoon sessions are more therapeutic and restorative in nature (supported by gorgeous Shanti Sundays props) and incorporate hands on healing (if welcomed) scent and sound.

Shamanism

Tracey practices shamanism and incorporates these teachings throughout the weekend with beautiful rituals for ourselves and the Earth and a celebratory closing fire ceremony. Fire ceremonies are powerful healing rituals celebrated in Indigenous cultures across the world. Using sticks (one for letting go and one for calling in), we will release all that no longer serves us to the fire before calling in what we want to manifest for this next cycle of life, for ourselves and the world.

Sound Meditation with Joseph Yanaku

Joseph is a creative artist in every sense. A gifted singer and composer with an interest in shamanism and animistic philosophy, Joseph also trained at the British Academy of Sound Therapy. He uses percussion, bowls, gong and his incredible voice to take each individual on a unique experience, rich in texture and story.

Therapeutic sound, used in this way is proven to gently alter the brainwaves, invoking a meditative or dream like state. It also works to slow down the heart rate, guiding participants out of the fight or flight response and into a state of rest and digest associated with the sympathetic nervous system.

When combined with the supported practice of restorative yoga, you can expect to access a vastness within and states of relaxation beyond your wildest dreams.
