Rooted and Rested, We Rise - A nurturing day of dynamic movement, meditation, restorative yoga & mantra

  • St Endellion Hall St Endellion PL29 3TP United Kingdom (map)

To navigate these times we are in with any semblance of grace, we need strong resilient roots to hold us steady as the world spirals all around us. With so much to hijack our nervous systems and our awareness, returning to the body and the present moment is non-negotiable if we are to stay sane and well.

Yoga strengthens the physical and energetic body, conditioning our muscles and bones, upgrading our cells and guiding us to breathe more fully into life, whatever is unfolding. It shows us how to find solace in the body and the present moment where our fears, programming and worries about the world no longer dictate. Building strength and trust in ourselves, in community, in Mother Earth and the divinity that holds us all and makes us more unshakable when life and landscape shifts unexpectedly around us.

Rest is an equally important part of our self care. Rested we are ready for the world and not held hostage by it. Rested we are able to show up in the world in our fullness. Rested we are more forgiving (to ourselves and others), and less reactionary to the things that are out of our control.

The most potent and nurturing form of rest is restorative yoga. By supporting the body with Shanti Sundays bolsters and blankets, restorative yoga helps to restore optimum function to the nervous system. By aligning the body in such a supportive way, the body can breathe more fully and when deeply rested, we are able to access the infinite wellspring of peace and spaciousness that lies within. It is a deeply therapeutic and beautiful practice.
