Happy New Year


2016 had it's fair share of highs and lows, at times requiring us to dig pretty deep to stay positive in some pretty uncertain times.  But dig we did and here we are on the first day of a New Year, inspired and ready to embrace whatever awaits us with an strong heart and an open mind.

It's true, there are uncertain times ahead but it's good to remember that nothing in life is certain, expect perhaps our breath, which flows through our body on its own accord, breathing new life into us moment by moment.  Can you remember the last time you last took a full conscious breath?

There is no greater resource to have than being still and paying attention to your breath.  By simply bringing your attention to it, the breath naturally slows down which immediately activates the relaxation response in the body, lowering the blood pressure and bringing calm to the body.  Sitting quietly for as little as 10 minutes a day whilst you listen and watch your breath coaxes your body and mind into a state of relaxed awareness and brings quiet to a busy brain.  It's a simple and invaluable habit to cultivate in today's climate and quite possibly the best investment you could make, in yourself,  as you begin this new chapter at the turn of the year.
